“The run is just part of the process, it’s during recovery that the adaptation happens.” So says Barry Fudge, British Athletics Head of Endurance. Fail to recover well and the hard yards you run in training can lose their potency. And Fudge should know, he’s one of the people charged with getting Team GB’s medal hopefuls ready for the upcoming Olympics in Tokyo. But how do the elites maximise their R&R? We got to hear from Laura Muir, Charlie Grice, Kyle Langford and Ellie Baker during an altitude training camp in St Moritz, Switzerland. Here are their recovery tips and tricks.
